Hyatt Regency Maui Resort & Spa Event Production
AVS Audio Visual Services Hawaii provides audio, LED video, projection, cameras, lighting, and technical crew for conferences, incentive programs, and evening events at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa on Kāʻanapali Beach.
The resort is built for education-heavy programs. Its Monarchy Ballroom, Lahaina Ballroom, and Maui Suites can be divided into as many as 16 separate rooms, so a single conference can run a general session in the morning and a full slate of breakouts by afternoon. Our Maui team works from a Wailuku warehouse about 26 miles away, so equipment and crew are already on the island.
Hyatt Regency Maui Meeting Space by the Numbers

Audio Systems Engineered for the Space
The Monarchy Ballroom benefits from a properly distributed audio system rather than excessive level from the front of the room. AVS uses d&b audiotechnik loudspeakers, Yamaha digital consoles, Shure Axient Digital wireless systems, distributed fills, RF coordination, intercom, and experienced engineers to maintain speech intelligibility and musical impact across the audience area. Outdoor systems are engineered separately around ambient noise, wind, guest distribution, and entertainment requirements. AVS can keep common wireless, playback, intercom, and engineering standards across the conference while changing the loudspeaker design for each environment. That is particularly useful when the same program moves from the Monarchy Ballroom into smaller education rooms and later to an open-air function where wind and ambient sound become part of the equation.
From One General Session to 16 Breakout Rooms
A typical Hyatt Regency Maui conference opens with a general session in the Monarchy Ballroom, which seats up to 1,500 theater-style. AVS covers the room with d&b audiotechnik loudspeakers and delays rather than pushing volume from the stage, mixed on Yamaha digital consoles with Shure Axient Digital wireless. INFiLED 2.6mm LED walls or Barco 4K laser projection carry the content, and Sony HDC-3100 cameras feed IMAG for keynote speakers.
When the ballroom splits into seven rooms for breakout sessions, the system splits with it. Education sessions need clear slides, and confidence monitors more than big visuals, so each breakout gets a matched package: projection, speech audio, wireless microphones, and presenter monitors. The same standard carries into the Lahaina Ballroom's four rooms and the five Maui Suites, so presenters have the same setup wherever they speak. The Monarchy Terrace's open-air walkway brings in natural light, so displays and signage near the entrances are selected to stay readable in daylight.
Lighting From Education Sessions to Evenings at Halona Kai
Daytime sessions call for clean presenter lighting and restrained branded room washes. Evening events at Halona Kai or Napili Garden call for a completely different treatment: stage and entertainment lighting, intelligent looks, scenic accents, and battery-powered uplighting.
For those evening events, the lighting plan is built around sunset timing, guest pathways, entertainment, and décor, with enough light for photography and event operations without overpowering the Kāʻanapali setting. Halona Kai's koi pond and greenery, and the Napili Garden's palm-lined beachfront, become part of the design. We carry your brand colors through the whole program so the evening feels connected to the morning session.
The Advantage of Local Maui Crew
-
Equipment on the island: Our Wailuku warehouse is about 26 miles from the resort, so added breakouts and backup gear don't depend on inter-island or mainland freight.
-
Built for multi-room conferences: With up to 16 rooms running at once, we assign techs by room cluster and stage spare microphones, laptops, and cables on site.
-
Coordination with the resort: We work with the Hyatt's event and in-house teams on access, power, internet, patching, and the meeting rooms' built-in sound systems.
-
A Maui partner for DMCs and agencies: Mainland producers get a local technical lead from planning through strike.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who provides AV at Hyatt Regency Maui, and can we bring our own company?
The resort's meeting rooms include built-in sound and lighting, and planners can also bring an independent provider like AVS Audio Visual Services Hawaii. Hotel contracts can include fees or requirements for outside vendors, such as rigging through house providers, so review the AV clause before signing.
What sets AVS apart from using in-house venue equipment?
AVS can work alongside Hyatt Regency Maui’s in-house or preferred technology provider when required. We clarify scopes in advance and coordinate venue-controlled services such as access, rigging, power, internet, patching, and built-in systems while providing the customized production systems and technical team selected by the client.
Can AVS provide complete audio, video, and lighting production?
Yes. AVS can provide professional audio, LED video, projection, cameras and IMAG, playback and switching, recording, lighting, communications, and technical production support.
How does AVS approach production in the resort’s larger spaces?
We design around audience layout, room or lawn dimensions, acoustics, sightlines, ambient conditions, stage placement, and creative objectives. Indoor and outdoor systems are engineered separately while remaining part of one overall production plan.
